USSC has completed modernization of the engineering infrastructure in SKB Kontur’s Data Center. Project included new equipment installation and integration with existing security system.
SKB Kontur uses the Data Center to process and store Customer data, therefore Data Center resiliency is vital for the Company. Data Center expansion will provide the necessary infrastructure for increasing the computational resources and improving overall security.
In order to install the new equipment USSC engineers have set up additional rack rows with smart power distribution modules and external temperature sensors.
Microclimate management in the Data Center is carried out by a renewed air-conditioning system with hot aisle isolation. This improves the overall HVAC system performance and allows optimized airflow distribution. New A/C units are connected to two independent cold supply lines, drain system and uninterruptible power supplies.
All installed engineering infrastructure components including air-conditioning units, smart power distribution modules and micro-climate sensors was integrated with existing monitoring and management system.
Oleg Sidorov, Head of Data Center Infrastructure department, USSC:
This complex project was not limited to existing infrastructure expansion. We had to comply with an extensive equipment resilience requirement list that was essential for Customer business continuity. All work was performed on a live data center, without infrastructure or service downtime.
Roman Pankov, Infrastructure Project Manager, SKB Kontur:
SKB Kontur is a software developer and cloud services provider. Our Data Center is one of the most important Company assets, that processes business-critical information.
