Ural Security Information Center and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, part of Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), have completed a project on implementation of digital infrastructures in pipe rolling workshop No. 8 located on the plant territory.
As part of the project, the team of USSB specialists analysed and acquired initial data, developed design documentation, supplied equipment and materials required for the work, installed climate control equipment and process data transmission networks of industrial process-control systems, including required telecommunications cabinets, installed power supply lines of trolley busbars and wireless networks, and improved the connection of process data transmission networks to SPD with a Check Point security gateway.
As a result of joint work in workshop No. 8 of JSC PNTZ plant, the workshop network infrastructure was created, the programmable logic controller was upgraded with additional network interfaces to transfer process data to the system of PIMS class to implement automated product identification and tracking system in workshop No. 8. Moreover, the workshop information infrastructure was created and wireless networks which provide documentation, storage and provision of process data were installed. As a result, a communication channel was organized between the work process (1st, 2nd level of industrial process-control system "Process Data Transmission Network") and the data transmission network.
It should be noted that the entire scope of work was done by USSC specialists in less than a year.
"The project implemented by USSC company has brought great practical benefits and increased efficiency of workshop No. 8 operation. Specialists of USSC company created a process data transmission network, updated PLC with network interfaces, installed process database servers, organized a secure, reliable communication channel between the information level of process control and the data transmission network of the corporate network. In addition, I want to note that the project was completed efficiently and promptly," Dmitry Gennadievich Zakharov, Head of Pervouralsk New Plant workshop, said.
