A concept for two dedicated Security Labs for university students was developed by USSC in autumn of 2019 and approved by the University. The actual construction work is already in progress on the Radiotechnical faculty campus.
The goal set for the Labs is to streamline the IT Security education process for students majoring in Computer Security and Network & Telecom Security and provide them with a modern collaboration space for study and science projects.
Both Labs will share the main theme and goal, USSC plans for both competitions and collaboration projects between them.
Security Labs will host lectures and theoretical study sessions as well as hands-on lab works related to various IT Security topics. Lab space can be configured to match the session type – traditional lecture, videoconferencing session and lab work with real networking equipment.
First of all, we see these Labs as a kind of Tony Stark’s offices, with smart lighting, modern multimedia equipment, state-of-the-art access control system and so forth. Second, Labs must accommodate various study session types, therefore all furniture and equipment must be mobile and the microclimate in the room should be very comfortable to provide the best conditions for prolonged sessions, — remarks Nickolay Domukhovsky, USSC’s Vice CEO.
Hardware and software Security tools for the Labs will be provided as part of the “Digital Campus” and masters’ “IT Security” education programs in which USSC is officially in partnership with the University.
